You could call it a blowout...(Blog Post #5)

This week in Michigan Football, the Wolverines played the University of Rutgers Scarlet Knights. And if you saw the game or even the score, you know it wasn't really a game. Michigan outscored Rutgers 78-0 Saturday. It was a absolute ass kicking. And a great game to solidify the doubts from last weeks nail biter.

Our first away game after the five starting home games we've had scheduled this year, Rutgers was visited by Harbaugh's dawgs in a game that didn't necessarily worry any Michigan fans. Coming off a 58-0 loss to Ohio State the week before, I'm sure the Scarlet Knights were looking for a game to raise their spirits. Well they ended up coming to the wrong place. Michigan players and staff did not like the questioning of their ranking when the Wolverines only beat the Wisconsin Badgers 14-7 the week prior. So they were eager to shut all of the critics up. And they definitely created a statement. Scoring 78 unanswered points that made even the most committed of Maize & Blue fans question whether they're wasting their time by watching such a blow out...by halftime.

This game was healthy for U of M because this was their last game before they head into their "bye" week. The following week Michigan plays Illinois at home. Not a tough game but hey you never know. Then the game after that is State week. And you know every Michigan fan is counting down the days to that one.

Obviously a lot of players got to play and score frequently this past week, but if you did not see the game and are interested in knowing, click the link below to check out some of the statistics: http://www.espn.com/college-football/matchup?gameId=400869636
